CTC — Branding & Website

A conceptual branding project created for CTC, including the development of the logo, visual identity and website.

The logo and identity were fully designed as a creative exploration, alongside the design and development of the website. This project was created as a design concept and has not been officially applied, launched or adopted by the CTC brand.

The project explores how a refined visual identity could translate into a cohesive digital experience, from the brand mark and typography to the website interface and overall art direction.

Scope
Brand Identity · Logo Design · Art Direction · Visual System · Web Design · Web Development

Conceptual project — not an official CTC brand identity or commercial implementation.

Horizontal Logo — Concept

The horizontal version was created to bring together the sporting heritage of the Clube de Ténis de Coimbra with the academic and cultural character of the city.

The concept takes inspiration from the club’s connection to tennis, while the typography and refined composition introduce a more classic, collegiate aesthetic. This direction reflects Coimbra’s strong academic identity and the club’s proximity to the university, creating a visual language that feels established, prestigious and timeless.

The circular emblem preserves the traditional character of a tennis club, incorporating the club’s history and the 1931 founding date. The architectural element within the crest references the surrounding city and its historic environment, while the navy, gold and white palette reinforces the feeling of tradition and distinction.

The horizontal lockup was then designed to make the identity more versatile across digital platforms, signage, apparel, stationery and other wider-format applications.

Visual Applications

To demonstrate the versatility of the identity, the logo was explored across a selection of realistic visual applications connected to the club's sporting environment.

The identity was applied to tennis accessories and apparel, showing how the emblem can integrate naturally into the everyday experience of players while maintaining a refined and recognisable presence.

The navy and gold colour palette works particularly well across these applications, reinforcing the club's traditional, collegiate and premium character while creating a consistent visual language across different physical touchpoints.

These applications were developed as visual mockups to showcase the potential of the concept, rather than representing official CTC products or materials.

Environmental Application

As a final exploration, the identity was applied directly to a tennis court surface, creating a bold and immersive expression of the CTC visual language.

The monochromatic treatment allows the emblem to become part of the environment itself, while the texture of the court gives the mark a more authentic, physical and sporting character. The circular composition works particularly well in this context, maintaining its recognisability even when scaled to a larger format.

This application demonstrates how the identity could extend beyond traditional branding materials and become part of the club's physical environment, reinforcing a strong sense of place and visual recognition.
